Could you describe the differences in sound between those 2 amps? Audio-gd tends to be smoother and warmer right?

Ur in Canada? Dude,..why are u looking so far from home...ur a lucky person..as u have a extremely good amp builder just around ur corner!! And for same budget of a master 2 they probably built u an amp that will blow ur mind for ur he6 and more ...just my experience. wink.gif

never in the hell blue circle audio is gonna build me a pair of monoblocks like the master 2 with the same audio quality at the same price. they have good stuff, but their good stuff cost anywhere to 10 000 to 30 000 bucks. why would i pay this much money, when i can have a better sounding amp at a fraction of the price.

Maybe..but dont, forget the customs...those thieves here in the netherlands almost ask a third of the total value (incl postage!) for custom costs and taxes! I

dont know how its in canada..but such a monster amp will cost a fortune to be shipped from china to canada...i paid 2000euro extra costs (postage, custom costs and taxes) to get my amp from canada to here..and it only weigns 20kg!
Many people forget the extra costs concerned with customs and postage etc.

But the audio gd master 2 looks indeed as a monster..i know a UK importer/distributor of Audio GD who ships oversees to states etc....maybe thats a solution for u imstead of trying to order directly from china?...it will save u on postage for sure!'

if ur interested..pm me..i can provide u with info then

And ur last line: better sounding amp for a fraction of the cost..about the fraction of the cost i can agree..but how u know that amp sounds better then their heavy hitters (as u mention them..the good stuff).. Ever tried one of their heavy hitters Like their NSL?

I wanna drive speakers too eventually. that is why I want master 2. right now I am in transition phase. I am in the process of leaving my current job and finding another one. wich will take not much time , there is plenty of jobs in my domain. the speakers I want badly are marten django xl. the shop where I bought my hegel dac has a demo pair. man those things are incredible.  master 2 would be perfect to drive these speakers. in the meantime I have my ef-6, my he-6 and my hegel hd25 for my listening time. I also kept all my other stuff. my 2 year old hd 800 is gathering dust like crazy. I have never liked grados cans and I have a pair of gs 1000i. I thought they were the worse cans ever until I decided to get them out of retirement and plug them in the ef-6. I have to say I was surprised. not bad. not bad at all. of course when you plug them into an asus stx, they might end up as the worse cans ever...

okay..thats ur choice then..but u cant say they sound inferior if u never actually heared one (DID U?) of their better amps and u cant just say they sound inferior because of how they built their amps...

Do u know how do they built them by the way? They built all sorts of amps, from SS, hybrids to full tube amps..so am wondering what u mean with u dont like the way how they built their amps.

do u actually know how audio gd (or any other chinese brand with more premium stuff in their assortment) builts their amps. am wondering....as u probably only know WHAT they put inside, not how they built it..

oh well...who am i to get into this? ur free to believe what u want..but i think its a pity u think like that and maybe missing out on something special if u believe the built determines how good an amp sounds... Just my take on this.

Tip: maybe u could look at the new mcintosh amps? I think they are in ur budget...i heared their headphone amp a few weeks back for a short time...sounded really good...makes me wonder how good their big guns sound..maybe something for u?

Prep,

does the 10 need a pre-amp? I guess not right since I'll be going from DAC and the 10 has volume control....

Thats the master 10 right? Looks good! I dont know if BC can..but for sure for that money they built u an excellent amp to drive ur he6.. Completely as u wish..but not as big as this..maybe u could check the higher end emotiva stuff???. But ur right..audio gd is almost unbeatable in pricing..productwise.. As i said..to get this huge amp to ur home is expensive because of the weight and measurements as its looks big and heavy ...but dont know about taxes in canada...

Dont get me wrong..i truly like audio gd...and i know they make good stuff for the right prices...but u cant compare an amp thats built entirely by hand by one person to a more mass produced brand like audio gd... And looks dont mean a lot to me..my amp isnt very flashy (or huge) looking but sounds way beyond its simple looks... Its the implementation of the components inside that makes an amp sound good or not...not the parts or looks alone...once again...u wont regret ur buying audio gd..they make good stuff!!! Hope u van get that amp into canada.

By the way lafigaro (another chinese brand i like) makes on request a dual mono high end amp..i understand it (only) costs around 2200usd... Its a monster of two enclosures...with the best of the best inside.
