Thanks for sharing your impressions.  Feel free to share more!  Especially as the amp breaks in.

I bet! I'll update as I chug along. I'm looking forward to your impressions as well! This is my 1st First Watt amp, so you're a little more seasoned than I am.

Although, preproman explained it to me prior, I forgot the difference between the F1 & F5. Which one sings sweeter with the HE-6?

That's a good question. Has he heard both with HE-6? I know Potterma will have first-hand experience with that very soon hopefully.

Not sure. But I believe  he understands Nelson's rhyme & reason for the line.

I thought the V200 was pretty good, but they do better with a bit more juice.

I checked with Lake People before and Fried Reim said the same thing. The v200 is more powerful, but the v100 could be ok as well.

“for my opinion V100 is also suitable for HE-6 as long as you don’t always listen with Rock´n´Roll levels ;-) Best would be to try it out.”

I'll keep you guys posted on the results.

Is your F1 a clone or made by Nelson,  Also is it a "F1J"  Will be interesting comparing the two.  I wonder if Nelson's amps has a "House sound"?

No idea about the "house sound". Interesting question. Each of the F-series amps are so different, yet tied together with the theme of simplicity. My F1 is not the "J" version, though I have the parts to do the conversion. It is one of the original 100 built by Pappa himself.

@Silent One. The F1 is a current amplifier and the F5 is a voltage amplifier.

I believe his "house sound" has a core principle of transparency and neutrality first, with variations of 2nd or 3rd order harmonics.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread, but the Pathos Classic One MKIII is a decent amp for the HE-6. Tube rolling with my Gold Aero 7308 (rebranded NOS Amperex 7308 tubes) produced the best results. I use an HE-Adapter in between, just to be safe.

Sorry for the bad pic.

Just taken this morning with my iPhone.

Sometimes this audio hobby of mine makes me want to go out and buy a decent DSLR... not that I know anything about photography.

I've been there a couple times for extended stays. What a town. Driving is flat out scary but the country is pretty neat. Seeing how villages and homes are built are pretty ingenious.

Don't you worry - I am keeping an eye on a less than outspoken one's G-22000...or a 919 that I recently saw on ebay...

Very nice. Is that a wood on the front faceplate of the pathos?
