Are you positive about this? Are you saying that Rockboxing the Clip+ will defeat any and all the firmware issues (more specifically the playback issues with being slow/fast and have a low/high pitch and ultimatel being out of tune)? Apparently, the Clip has slow playback and a low pitch and the clip+ may have fast playback and a high pitch. If you know for a fact (I am interested in your source) that rockboxing will completely eliminate these issues then I am all for it.

What does Rockboxing do? I know it is different firmware but does it completely replace the old?

Okay, I now understand what Rockbox does. However, I am still concerned that if I choose to use the Clip + that the playback issues (whether it be that the pitch is high or low and/or the playback is fast or slow) will still be there. Can rockboxing a digital audio player take care of this problem? I fear this problem may be inherent to the player.

No disrespect but you seem to be asking the same question over and over again, I own a Clip+ which has been Rockboxed and no I cannot hear any problems with the pitch or slow playback in OF or Rockbox.

Buy it from Amazon, if your not happy return it for a refund.

Yup, we all gave answers and suggestions - now do some legwork and try it yourself. After all, this is Head-Fi, and if your that frugal you really have no place here. The motto of this place is "Sorry For Your Wallet", and a clip+ is quite cheap.

Go buy, try, return if unsatisfied,...case closed!!! cool.gif
