Westone 3 spoiled...i am in misery.

call westone, their customer service is top notch! stories of out of warranty replacements have floated here and there

^Agreed. If that fails, spend $20 on the meelelec M6. Same slightly warm V shaped sound signature, though clearly of much lesser SQ. Still, if it's only for a little while they should be more than adequate. Then you can just save them for the gym, and your new W3 will last much longer. :)

Hi,

 

I bought a pair of used Westone 3 few months back with sales receipt by the previous owner.

 

Last week, their left side stopped working, i realized it was due to cable connection on the left side. Now they have been purchased on 30/12/2008. Which means they still have a week of warranty remaining.

 

But when i went to service center (SKM Building) in Singapore, they said the original warranty is only 1 year and remaining depends on if the previous owner registered them online or not.

 

I have been unable to reach the previous owner but i have the receipt and the complete package with me.

 

Could you please help me with confirmation or what other options I have to repair my Westone 3?

sounds all right to me, thought If i were writing the email, I would have incorporated myself as the original and only owner (just waiting for the morals and ethics sharks to feed on my corpse)

In those situations, imagine the 'original owner' was your brother who sold you an iem he didn't want to keep.

@buffalowings Don't worry, I was actually thinking of the exact same thing. *waits for moral and ethics shark to feast on him too*

Try the mee m11+ instead. the only thing thats remotely the same about them is the bass, mids and highs  are much more forward and much more detailed, its like M6 =hmmm what are people raving about. M11+ = dont understand why people isent raving more because these are amasing. The only thing the M6 has that M11+ hasent is better abillity to stay in the ear. Just my 2 cents.

Nice to know that Westone honors second hand warranty since i`m getting um3x. BTW FWIR the turbines is to heavy to stay in the ear at the gym, please correct me if i`m wrong. Starting Xmas with the 100th post, awesome

congrats! kinda expected westone would pull through in the end

Agreed, The Turbines are heavy and quite fragile, I think if you drop them on to hard surface they'd probably get damaged, the right housing of my Turbine Pro Coppers split apart after 2 days as I was changing the tips. I for one would not use them at the gym as they don't seem to stay in my ears as well as my UM3Xs, although they do sound much better in my opinion.
