Need Help/Suggestions Ordering from a Non-English Website

I'm in the process of putting together a M3 from AMB and I need to pick a case. I've got my heart set on 2 of Segor Electronics cases, unfortunately the site is in complete German. The part number is  001.07.L.SW just for reference. I'm using Google Chrome, which I can get some of the pages to half way translate, but not enough to place an order. Hell, I don't even know if they ship to the U.S.

What I'm asking from you guys is if someone knows a good web based translator, or has maybe ordered from them before and can help me out? Maybe they have a store in the U.S. that I don't know about.

I would email them, but I can't find an email address... I doubt they speak any English anyways.

Looks like an interesting place. Would love to visit it.

Email address is at the bottom of this page:

Or here:

You would be surprised at how many folks outside the Americas speak excellent English. I wouldn't hesitate to call. The USA is generally woefully behind the rest of the world in being a multi-lingual society.

Looks like you are in luck after all:

Seriously, that looks like a 1455-series Hammond with a slightly different trim and a mesh top...  Consider simply buying Hammond and installing a mesh top? :)

Ah, I dunno how I missed that email address. I must have been too frustrated to see that...thanks!

@ FallenAngel

That's a good idea, but I'm afraid I might end up destroying the case in the process of cutting out the top. Plus, the tallest I could find was 2.1", which would be very close to the top of my heat sinks. If ordering from the German site doesn't work out I'll probably try it out though. Nice find!

I just emailed them, I'll let you know was said when I hear back.

Most people running a business, especially dealing with electronics, do speak english. Germans usually are quite educated...wink.gif

And they do offer international shipping explicitely. Shoot them an email...

And btw.: have you seen the cases from modushop?

I realize how that sounded, but I didn't mean any disrespect when I said I doubt they speak English. So, my apologies for that. :) I wasn't able to find the shipping info page by myself, so I figured they only dealt in Germany... hints why I thought they might not speak English. I emailed them earlier today, still no reply but I'm sure it was night time there, so I will hopefully get some info tomorrow morning.

Anyways, those Mod Shop cases are pretty sick looking. I'm gonna take a close look at those. So many options! biggrin.gif

No pun intended...wink.gifwink.gif

Their website is not very obvious either...

I thought that the modu cases would fit nicely to an M3 (I built one myself back in 2007)... the Galaxy cases with 10mm front are ...err, quite sick looking (to use your terminology wink.gif).

I just got an email back for Segor, looks like shipping is going to hurt.. a lot. Emailed back for a closer estimate, but it looks like it will cost as much as the case itself does.

I was looking a the Modu site last night and I really like the Galaxy cases you referred to. This is tough, I guess as soon as I get the final prices for both cases I'll know my answer.

Hey, Stixx... when you built your M3 did you ever consider making a Epsilon12 to go with it? My Minimax has something like this already, but I'm not sure what it would be like without it. Are you not able to plug your phones into it right when you turn it on due to voltage swings and such? I ask because if I go with two of the Segor enclosures I wouldn't have room to add it in later unless I wanted to have 3 cases for an amps, which is a little ridiculous IMO.

Eclipse,

my M3 doesn't have an Epsilon, and IMHO you don't really need it with an M3.

Since I have a few different headphone amps I usually switch the M3 on and then, after a little while, plug in the 'phones.

But even with headphones connected I didn't observe any nasty symptoms, it's just a soft and short 'zzzz' , and that's it.

My music sometimes is way louder...

Ah, okay... that's good to know. The price estimate for the Segor enclosures is 100+ EUR, so looks like that isn't an option anymore.

I've been looking around a bit and decided I'd really rather have one case for both the psu and amp, possibly the epsilon later. The Modu enclosures are either too short (which might work) or too tall (won't fit under my wall mounted monitor). I've found this one that looks perfect, also from Germany though. I emailed them for a price estimate but I probably won't hear back for a few days. Apparently it is a few hours away from Christmas for them.

Amazing what you are digging up... I didn't know those...!

Today everything is closed, about 5 hours to Chrismas eve (my daughter can't wait anymore...).

When you need help translating something or else. you can P.M. me .

Happy Chrismas...

Thanks! I'll be sure to post back with whatever I find out. The more I look at that enclosure the more I like it, I hope shipping isn't a killer.

Merry Christmas! dt880smile.png
