Hi Im trying to find a decent pair of headphones for use with PC, I have an X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard which I believe doesnt have an amplified output? I recently bought a pair of KRK KNS 6400 headphones (32ohm) but they sound pretty bad overall, They have zero bass output and I have to really crank the volume to hear them good. I had similur results when trying them on my Onkyo HT reciever. In comparison my 5 year old Koss PortaPro's sound much much better but Im looking for something with better comfort.
Any ideas appreciated!
EDIT: I discovered plugging the KRK's directly into the soundcards line out sounds MUCH better (I had them plugged into my Logitech Z5500's headphone jack originally) I have 30 days to return them but it looks like I may keep them or I might try the Sennheiser HD280 Pro's
EDIT2: Obviously no one responded to my thread but figured I'd post this update just in case its found in the future via a search result, I exchanged the KRK KNS 6400's for HD280's and Im glad I did, the Sennheisers definitely sound better especially with bass output.
