I'm seriously considering getting a surround sound gaming setup for my PC, because after playing Black Ops for several days I've found myself getting shot and stabbed in the back because I can't hear where the enemy is, and by the time I look at the mini map and find out where they are, it's too late. So, I was wondering what the best sound solution would be in terms of audio devices and headphones. I do know that the headphones must be open air for the best results, but I'm stumped on the surround sound processor. I don't know if all I need is a good sound card or if I can just use an external processor. I've searched the forums for product suggestions, but I've had no luck so far (surprisingly enough).
So what I need from you my friends are suggestions on sound cards, sound processors, and headphones. My budget is about $150 USD.
