I know the DA-10/11 can run in both balanced and unbalanced modes, but that is referring to outputs, right?

 

Which mode does it need to be in if I'm connecting a SPDIF cable to the DA-10/11 from a USB-to-SPDIF converter plugged into my computer, with my headphones plugged into the front headphone (1/4" stereo) jack?  Does it have to be set in unbalanced mode with that setup? 

 

Is the only time the jumpers should be set to balanced is if you're using the XLR outputs to a balanced amp or receiver?
