Looking at:

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/50729/how-to-make-an-interconnect-step-by-step-with-pics

I see that he makes interconnects

But I need to ask about which connection point I put right or left on?

My arrows are green, which to i use to connect the left and right?

Before you say it, I'm making sure that I keep what my Zune thinks is left to my headphones is left.

Probe them with a multimeter.

Write this down somewhere. I taped it to the wall above my work desk until I could remember.

Tip left

Ring right

Sleeve ground

You could also play a song you are familiar with after building the cable. Its kind of startling how few people can identify flipped L&R in an unfamiliar stereo (like when you go to a friends house to listen to his new $25000 speakers {that are wired wrong}). Spend some time with this one, Impress your friends. You only need to remember 2 or 3 aural cues on a couple pieces of music...
