Hello,
A bit of light searching didn't yield any results, so I am curious, at 200usd, would it be better (as in, better audio quality) to buy an ASUS Xonar PCIe card or a NuForce u-Dac 2 USB device?
I have:
m11x laptop
P180m desktop (i7, ASUS R2G, TPQ850W PSU)
both of them with the appropriate free ports.
For headphones, all I have is the ATH-M50s (does the cable makes any difference - coiled or not?), but I do hope to keep on moving up. Relative temp is about 25C-33C all year, cycling through about 2%-->50% humidity (if the 4 function wall clock I have is accurate), and about sea level ATM pressure. As for the P180m, I have only GentleTyphoons inside, along with a H50, so I don't know if the electrical effects from those are okay? The m11x has a strange switching mechanism that buzzes when it's on battery, but that's about it.
I also have a ZuneHD. I've only started looking for other audio source options since I've noticed a bit of a... muffled effect (muggy?) on my headphones after all this time. I noticed it mostly on my laptop after a month of having my ATH-M50s, and somewhat on my desktop, too. I read a review by ViciousXUSMC on NBR, and the thread eventually got a few pointers to here, so here I am!
If anyone has any input, experience, links, suggetions, I would appreciate it very much, thank you!
