A diy beginner question, difference of transformers?

Whats the difference? I notice they vary in visual aspects, I bought a more "bare" transformer similar to the first one.

Neither one really appears to be shielded so I would say one is probably usable at 115 or 230v (or similar) vs just one input voltage and they have a slightly different mounting schemes (pads & screw/nut vs center part filled in permanently to run a screw through and probably a permanently attached isolation pad on the base.)

 

I could be wrong though... I've no idea what that jumbo black wire coming off the left one is.

Post pics of the side labels and It will be easier to determine. The one on the left appears to be considerably smaller (probably far less VA) than the one on the right.
