DAC Recommendation w/ built in preamp - $1500 or less

Hey all,

 

I'm looking for a fully balanced (I will use XLR out) DAC that has a remote control and will accept USB input.  Obviously if it needs a remote, it has to have some kind of built in volume control.

 

It doesn't have to be at the top of my budget either :)

Though it doesn't have a balanced output, I would still at least look at the Anedio D1 DAC. Here's a review:

Note: I haven't actually heard the Anedio D1.

 

On the other hand, I have heard the Yulong D100, and it is a awesome DAC. It doesn't have a remote, but it should suit you for everything else. Check it out.

Although it's slightly above your budget ($1595), I highly recommend the Benchmark DAC1 PRE.  I use it with my Grado PS1000 and the sound is wonderful.
