I am extremely new to this field, and apologize in advance for being naive, but after an hour or so of googling to no end I decided to take my questions here.
I have decided on the Sennheiser HD595's for use with my laptop almost exclusively with music, but I have heard from countless testimonials that these headphones are not complete without a good amplifier.
I don't want to spend more than $200 or so total and amazon has the 595s for around 170. Would I be better off with the 555s and a good amp or the 595s and a cheap/no amp? I have heard from some reviews that the 555s and the 595s are almost identical, and other reviews that they are very different. Needless to say, I am completely lost.
In a nutshell, my question is, with a budget of ~$200, should I get the 555s or the 595s, with or without an amp, and if an amp, then which?
This site has already helped me a ton from me just looking at other peoples questions. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me sort this out.
