Which is the better headphone. Only vote if you've spent time with both:-)
One of these will be my next purchase.
Happy voting:-)
PS, This is really 3rd in the running but if you think the L3000 are deserving I may consider that as well.

you really need to put this to a vote?
The qualia drivers are surely nowhere near as good as the 02... I mean the qualia was just a chassis upgrade of the SA5K, no?
The only reason people would vote for the qualia is because the price they paid convinced them they are the best :P. I didn't vote because I have not heard either but I think you know which one will win already.

The chasis upgrade of the SA5K is not true, but you are certainly entitled to believe the Omegas are superior.... I have never heard the Qualias.
Man, you've clearly never heard them - so why post that at all?
The Qualia 010 is something else. I preferred them to the electrostats I've heard - including the he90 and the Omega II (though admit I haven't spent much "quality" time with the latter). Though, I've only heard the Mk I version of the OII, and then only with a stock 1st generation KGSS. However, I went off into speakers before I might have more rigorously investigated the path of electrostatics.
The 010 DOESN'T sound like an electrostat, which can render an ethereal sense of "air". The 010 is tops for a dynamic in that department, but not quite there yet. The 010 DOES offer a level of resolution you won't hear from any other dynamic headphone (or ANY headphone, from my experience). Superb bass impact (those dynamic drivers), but it's also perfectly clean. The treble quality was the best I've ever heard; better than R10 IMO. Some will take issue with the midrange - it's a bit analytical and distant there. I LOVE a warm, rich midrange, e.g. R10, Koetsu cartridges, but I could kinda deal with the Qualia midrange in order to enjoy its other exquisite attributes. If you're familiar with stereo cartridges I would draw the following analogy:
R10 vs. Qualia is like Koestu Onyx vs. Ortofon Windfeld (to be fair the Windfeld's midrange is more natural than the Qualia's).
The L3000 are superb musical cans (for my tastes) but not on the same technical plane as the 010/R10/top-electrostatics. The 010 is hard to find and often spendy, so that should be a consideration too.

Just wondering but looks like I need to do some more research!

Good guess but I did explicitly state I had not heard them :P
Could very well be they are the bee's knees but I will do some more research because from what I understood they were VERY similar to the SA5K down to the driver technology and if the qualia is anything close to the SA5K... it is not going to be as good as the omega.
But a lot of the headphones mentioned above, like R10 and 010 live off their legacy now and their OOP status more than anything else from what I can gather.
Qualia beats the pants off the OII and eats its legs for breakfast! What, are you kidding?
Are you ever going to stop posting useless polls btw? When are you going to start making up your own mind instead of asking Head-Fi to pick your headphones?

Was that meant to be funny? I've done a lot of research and what I've found is that the headphones need to be taken apart in order to put the temple pads on properly. Would you like to take them apart?

If you lived closer I would show you how to do it,I have new pads on one of my pairs and I can assure you I did not pull them to pieces to fit them.
I as you know replied to your advert with a very easy/simple way to fit them.
Nothing ventured nothing gained, good luck with your hot glue solution.
And YES it was meant to be funny.
I'm not sure it's really a question of "better". The O2 and the 010 are going to sound very different from each other. Which one you prefer is going to depend on what kind of signature you prefer, and what kind of music you want to listen to with them. The O2 is as smooth as the finest silk. Deep bass response is perfectly adequate for me, and I love those mids. I don't like dark cans and the O2 to my ears is not dark. All of the detail is there, but it's just not in your face. The O2 is never fatiguing, and it forgives less than amazing production. While I don't have personal experience, from what I've read around here it sounds like I would probably really like the R10, and probably not like the 010.
I preferred the Qualia to the O2 by a large margin. I've owned both in the past. I should add that I am not a fan of the O2 and the Qualia are probably my favorite headphone when they fit properly. As to them being compared to the SA5K, they kind of look similar and are both made by Sony but that is where the comparison ends, imo. I've owned the SA5K as well.

I am having a hard time finding technical data but from what I understand the drivers are of the same breed... the qualia ones are undoubtedly the better drivers but it is the same technology... and judging by the photos this makes sense but who knows. They no doubt sound better.

My own impression of O2Mk1 VS O2Mk2 is as follows:
O2Mk2 was built to prove that the MK1 was built correctly from day 1 but headphones that dont fart are more important than headphones that sound good.
I agree, 010 have more potential than the 02, but the 010 are FAR more picky for placement. The O2mk1 sound better if you move them around a bit, but its hard to put them on wrong - like most headphones. People write the 010 off without moving them around at all and they are VERY placement-picky :(
