Hey, I'm new here. I'm looking to get a pair of headphones along with everything to go inbetween them and my pc (dac, amp etc). My budget is between £500 and £600, although the lower the better. I've researched it and the HD 650, fiio E17 and fiio E09K seems to be a pretty solid choice. I'm basically just wondering whether there are any other better alternatives. I want them for music, and although I will use them for gaming aswell, music is the priority. I will be listening to older drum and bass/jungle e.g bad company uk, dillinja, goldie etc. so I'm looking for some good low, heavy bass as well as breakbeats. Thanks :)

Also : Portability is not a factor I'm looking for. I don't care how big the equipment is.

I got what you meant.

The HFI-580 will work fine as well. Regardless of how you're feeding the headphones, the DJ1 will still be louder, but it's not something you should worry about, as listening to that high volume would make you deaf.

I'm new to high end phones (don't even know if my Sony MDR-V700 counts), learning and reading about headphones have put me off the idea of ever buying headphones...it's pretty sad, I started exited on getting new headphones but now I don't even know anymore.

It seems really hard to get an answer from people since everyone have diffrent views, I thought that I wanted the AKG K550 and was almost convinced but then I continue to search the threads here and found some posts that made me doubtfull, I then started looking at the U Pro 750s but then the same thing happened.

I really don't know what headphones I should get, I can't really test any so I'm pretty much screwed...damn.

All I know is that I want closed comfortable fun headphones that handle bass great for round 450- dollars.

I'm close to giving up, it's just too much opinions.

The E17/E09K combo will not give you any surround sound for gaming, only 2-channel stereo audio.

An internal sound card with the Fiio E09k would be a better combo for movies and gaming (and still good for music).

I'm perfectly happy with stereo. I've used surround and hated it. I've already got the asus xonar xense.. I don't know whether it's any good.

Roller said the DJ 1 was louder, as in needed a lower volume level for same decibel level. I'm trying to ask (In a very beginner way) If that factor even matters if I have amps that can supply more than sufficient volume for my headphones. Thank you.

I have a question for the hdj pioneer 2000 headphones. Do they have the same bass as the sol republic tracks.

m50 is probably the best headphone you can get at that price range, though they have a somewhat large amount of bass.

Hi!

Im looking for a pair of headphones in the ~300$ range (in Canada). I listen to lots of different kinds of music but mostly Rock, Jazz and Indie

They would be used at home so portability and sound leakage is not an issue.

They would be used with my macbook pro mostly. I don't have any kind of amp but I could see getting an affordable one in the future.

After a bit of reading I was sold on the D2000 but I found out these have been discontinued. Another one I was looking at was the shure srh940.

Most of the reviews seem pretty favourable for them. My only worry is that I wont have enough bass or that I'll need to get an amp to get anything from them.

Any other suggestions or would the srh940 be a solid choice?
