I'm thinking of getting some Wireless Headphones for listening to music and watching films on my PC. I've been considering either the Sony Mdr-Ds6500 or the Sennheiser RS 180/170's but not sure which to go for.

 

I'm a novice with headphones so any help will be greatly appreciated.

the sennheiser rs220 is about as good as wireless headphones get right now. As long as you stay within the confines of the transmitter.

if you are looking for something more portable the UE9000's may be the way to go though I personally own the MM-550's.

Dear everybody. I tried this a couple days ago, but I did not get any responses. I am looking for a headphone that does most indie folk / indie rock best. And Audiobooks. Someone told me you need a headphone with good mids for good audiobooks. Can anyone help me? I've added some headphones too. And deleted The AKG K550 of the list. These are the headphones I am wanting right now.

 

  • V-Moda M-100
  • Sennheiser Momentum
  • AKG K271 MK II
  • Philips Fidelio L1

Cheers for that, they look good but i think i should have made clear i need them for £200 or less.

Recommend me a headphone with the bass and treble detail of an Ultrasone Pro 900 (maybe with more sub-bass extension), but without the sibilance and harshness of treble which makes my ears want to bleed at times (though it has gotten better over time). Most importantly, I need more mids! Maybe something more "U" shaped rather than "V" shaped.

Sounds like you need a Denon-- an older Denon, not the new ones.

Hi!

 

Here is the problem. One year ago, I bought a Sennheiser HD25-1 ii after having read all the excellent reviews on the internet.

I realized why it is said to be a “professional” headphone: the sound is extremely detailed and clear, the headphone itself is unbreakable… But I don’t really like its sound.


It lacks personality and warmth. The sound is too neutral for me.

Do you have some advice concerning an on-ear headphone (or other type…) under 180$?
I listen to trip-hop music, electronic music, rock music…

OK--you have me confused, as you said that rock was you favorite music and the DT 990 are wayyy to "V" shaped an EQ for my rock listening.  What sound signature are you seeking?

They're very good if their mid bass hump and somewhat recessed highs don't pull them too far from neutral for you needs.

 

The KRK KNS 8400 are closer to neutral--less bass and just a bit bright.  They are also very comfortable and isolate quite well.
