post #19667 of 2883410/3/12 at 5:10amI'm thinking of getting some Wireless Headphones for listening to music and watching films on my PC. I've been considering either the Sony Mdr-Ds6500 or the Sennheiser RS 180/170's but not sure which to go for.
I'm a novice with headphones so any help will be greatly appreciated.
post #19668 of 2883410/3/12 at 5:21amthe sennheiser rs220 is about as good as wireless headphones get right now. As long as you stay within the confines of the transmitter.
if you are looking for something more portable the UE9000's may be the way to go though I personally own the MM-550's.post #19669 of 2883410/3/12 at 5:27amQuote:Originally Posted by iCupboard
Dear everyone!
I decided to ask it here. :) I had posted my question about the headphones that I liked, but the member I came across only knew the V-Moda LP2, in which I was interested.
So:
What am I looking for?
A closed headphone with lots of isolation.
Which genres?
Indie rock, indie folk, audiobooks(!!!! those are so important for me) and a little bit of dubstep
Where do I want to use them?
Everywhere! To give some examples; In the bus, in the train, on the street, in the car, on the bike (BADDIE! Traffic!)
Something else?
I am hoping to find a headphone with a detachable cable. my K272HD died, because the cable broke... :(
Which headphones do I have in mind?
- V-Moda LP2
- Sennheiser Momentum
- AKG K550
If you have any headphone you want to recommend to me, feel free to do so!
Thanks for your time! :D
Dear everybody. I tried this a couple days ago, but I did not get any responses. I am looking for a headphone that does most indie folk / indie rock best. And Audiobooks. Someone told me you need a headphone with good mids for good audiobooks. Can anyone help me? I've added some headphones too. And deleted The AKG K550 of the list. These are the headphones I am wanting right now.
- V-Moda M-100
- Sennheiser Momentum
- AKG K271 MK II
- Philips Fidelio L1
Please, I am delighted if someone can help me. :)

Recommend me a headphone with the bass and treble detail of an Ultrasone Pro 900 (maybe with more sub-bass extension), but without the sibilance and harshness of treble which makes my ears want to bleed at times (though it has gotten better over time). Most importantly, I need more mids! Maybe something more "U" shaped rather than "V" shaped.
post #19672 of 2883410/3/12 at 7:39amSounds like you need a Denon-- an older Denon, not the new ones.
post #19673 of 2883410/3/12 at 8:09amHi!
Here is the problem. One year ago, I bought a Sennheiser HD25-1 ii after having read all the excellent reviews on the internet.
I realized why it is said to be a “professional” headphone: the sound is extremely detailed and clear, the headphone itself is unbreakable… But I don’t really like its sound.
It lacks personality and warmth. The sound is too neutral for me.Do you have some advice concerning an on-ear headphone (or other type…) under 180$?
I listen to trip-hop music, electronic music, rock music…Thank you very much!
(ps: English is not my native language)post #19674 of 2883410/3/12 at 9:03amI'm gravitating around the Shure SRH840 for a neutral, closed, isolating pair under $180
thoughts?
Hah, well luckily I do like to hear her :p

I've been listening to DT 880 and Q701 for a while now and the Beyerdynamics appeal VERY much to me. Apart from sounding really good to my ears, they feel light and comfortable. Based on your recommendation, I think I'll get them.
Portable: In a sudden rush, I ordered the AT ATH-ESW9a. I will try the SRH 940, though!
Which amp should I get? There's no possibility in my area to listen to portable amps.
The HeadRoom Total Airhead will power any of the cans we have discussed and its currently on sale for half price ($49.00) here:http://www.headphone.com/headphone-amps/amplifiers/headroom-total-airhead.php

They're very good if their mid bass hump and somewhat recessed highs don't pull them too far from neutral for you needs. The KRK KNS 8400 are closer to neutral--less bass and just a bit bright. They are also very comfortable and isolate quite well.
