to bertp1 (i dont want to Quote that whole block)

I don't know much about headphones but after looking at different threads in this forum i can tell you that you wont get any soundstage with the M50s but the sound quality is apparently amazing for the price (bass/mid/high).

If you want a good soundstage, i heard that you have to go for Open Cans type of headphones (The ones that leak alot).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way i need help please,

I'm still trying to decide what i should get between the Grados SR125i or the ATH-AD900+amp. I listen to classical mostly (Piano, Orchestra), Rock and i will watch movies with them too.

If you wanna give me other better choice of headphones, feel free. I'm looking for a Large soundstage pair. (200$ budget)

Thank you

Sounds like you have been misinformed. Actually, those headphones are over priced for the audio quality you get.

My profile picture? It's accurate. With Beats and Skullcandy, you pay for massive advertising campaigns that make them popular, and thus allow the companies to jack up the price even more. You can get V-Moda M-80s or Ultrasone HFI-580s, and you'll have some very good sounding headphones that have some serious bass without spending much money. I gave my 12 year old son a pair of the 580s for his birthday, and he says that they definitely sound better than his friends Beats.

So if you do your research on Head-Fi, you'll find that everyone advises skipping Beats and Skullcandy headphones unless you are more interested in making a fashion statement.

Sorry. My recommendation is to get neither. I've heard Beats, and to me they sound like crap for what they cost. Haven't heard the Skullcandy, but the testimonials here on Head-Fi don't indicate them to a very good headphone for the money.

Neither, unless you're buying because of the brand name.

Its Vmoda vs Vmoda. I don't want to spend the $300 for the M100 even though they sound just like what I am after. Its the M80 vs the LP2. I am not a bass head but love controlled bass. My current set is the K81 DJs and I love them, but am wanting something new to try out. Clarity of the music is first and foremost then I need a nice punchy bass that doesn't distort the rest of the music. I feel the K81 DJs do that for me very well.

I listen to DMB, Coldplay, Mumford, Avett Bros, pearl jam, 90s rock and 90s rap.

are the LPs a better fit for me? Or are they not clean and clear enough so that I should sacrifice some of that bass and go M80?

Anyone?

Like I said. Even my 12 year old son found the HFI-580s to be better than Beats. Plenty of bass, but not muddy like the Beats. Better mids and better highs.

Since you like a wide range of genres, you should decide if you like bass heavy phones or more neutral phones. In other words, how much bass do you want? Also, do you want them to be portable to wear around? Do you need isolation and phones that won't disturb others? What kind of source will you hook them up to (specific mp3 player? your computer?)

Help. I have my home setup all sorted. Beyer dt880 600 ohm plus littledot tube amp.

I need a good headphone for my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. I currently have the EarPods, Bose AE2i and Sennheiser HD202 ii.

I bought yesterday the Amperior which sounded amazing. But today after just one hour my ears hurt so much I took them off and re boxed them to return back to Apple store. My music is at 320 bit. I listen to jazz, classical, blues , pop and rock mainly. I need a pair of headphones that will work without an amp properly like the Sennheiser Amperior.

Budget is up to £280.

Size of cans is irrelevant. Comfort is relevant.

I keep changing my mind, but im very close to get exactly what i'm looking for.

Right now i'm having a battle:  ATH-AD900 vs AKG K601

- I listen to Classical, Rock, Movies

- Up to 200$ budget

- Want good sound stage

- Comfortable

What is best for me? (Could be something else than those 2 headphones.)

Thank you.

For classical, going only by their reputation and recommendations, the AKG.

But how can you be very close to deciding? For $25 more, you can get the AKG 701!
