I'd go with the Sony for comfort and isolation--although the Ultrasone (780) has a great cord setup for portable use.  I also prefer the Sony sound for all all-around use, but those who prefer a bassier signature are better served by the Ultrasone.

I'm not really a basshead. I just want the necessary ammount and tightness.

So, your choice would be the sonys?

How would They compare to the ath m50?

Thanks a lot

The M50 has a "V" shaped EQ with recessed mids.  They are a favorite of many bass head lites.  The M50 (and similarly priced Shure SRH 840) are a bit harder to drive than the Sonys and Ultrasones.  The Sonys have great mids, but less bass.  The Sonys are much more balanced and neutral than the M50.

The would pick the Sonys and the Ultrasones (and the Shure SRH 840) above the M50.

Thanks a lot, man, really :-)

I'll keep those two on the top of my list.

It's just me or the new batch MS1i has increase it's amount of bass (in a good solid bass way) compare to the old batch??

One more thing, it's been a year that i've got a SR60i and now it's completely boomy on bass and reccesed the mid since it use alot by my co worker for rap/hiphop track blink.gif. my question is can a song change the headphone soundsign?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english biggrin.gif

How loud did this lucky coworker play your 60?  Did he warp of melt the plastic on the cups?

BTW: the 60 is an odd choice for rap and hip hop.

Hi all

Totally new to the Audiophile world, but just picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD 558 and also have done the Foam mod on them. Now they do sound nice but im looking to delve alittle deeper, and i will mainly be doing alot of listening on my PC.

Im mainly looking for something to drive them internally from my pc ( already have enough junk on my desk ) , and im not looking for a

portable amp solution, so i did come across the ASUS Xonar Essence ST.

Would this be overkill for these headsets or do you recommend anything else for them ?

Many thanks again !

My co worker doesn't care if the headphone suite for hiphop in sound, for him aslong the headphone can create sound than he will use it and he play it loud enough for him and others to hear because the open back type blink.gif
