Thanks for the help guys! I decided to get the Monoprice ones. According to the reviews, they get a lot better (in bass and comfort) with a little bit of modding and burn-in. I just ordered them today, soo now for the awesome wait for them to come home. smily_headphones1.gif Haaa

Thanks again,

That's a nice thread, but I'm looking for in-ear headphones; not one listed there. Thanks for your time and thought though!

This is a question that could be directed toward the IEM subforum.

Also, you're not gonna get a lot of bass from an IEM. I use my Hifiman RE-Zeros on a daily basis, and I really like them. You can tell the song has a strong bass, but it doesn't have the oomph you get with a full-sized headphone.

Hello everyone,

First time posting a question on this website, here goes my situation :

I'm in the market for headphones or an Headset with an integrated mic which will serve as my all-around gaming/listening device for my computer.

For 2 years i've had Logitech G35 connected via USB and right now they are falling apart.

I also own V-Moda V-80 headphone that I use for my iPhone.

So far I've read about the Sennheiser PC 350 and PC 360 since I would prefer having both the Mic and the Headphones in one entity.

So i've been wondering, should I just go out and try the Sennheiser, should I try those V-Moda with an Amp ? ( I don't know jack about amp and what not ) Combined with a simple mounted mic on my desk. Or should I try a whole different setup?

In regard of my PC sound usage : Gaming ---- > I play pretty much anything so no preference there, I do use either Ventrilo or Steam In build chat system.

Music -------> As of now I'm really into Daft Punk and Amon Amarth other than that it's pretty much any genre except country music and not that much rap.

Oh nearly forgot, price range invest potential would be from 100 to 400-500$

Thanks in advance for your input on my inquiry.

I don't have much experience in the headset area, but you might find this thread useful: http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gaming-guide-w-dolby-headphone-updated-2-19-2012-petition-added

Then here are a couple hundred IEMs compared.

MY HA-RX700's are dead after a year of high volume abuse so I am in the market for a new set of can's

they will be used for the following

FPS Gaming (decent soundstage) nothing extreme

Some Movie/tv watching

Mp3 playback

I like good thumpy bass but I HATE Distortion Gotta have Decent mid's don't much care for sounds beyond 16k

I would like to spend 30 to 60 but I would rater not spend 60 unless it was really worth it

I have looked at the following

PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S

Panasonic RP-HTX7-R1

Panasonic RP-HTF890-S

This should be a quick and easy one:

I'm looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones for a friend.  He picked out a pair of Jabras that cost $100 and were rather poorly received by Amazon reviewers, so I offered to plug the head-fi community on his behalf to find some better ones.  So, what do you guys think?

What's the best pair of portable bluetooth headphones?

what about the out of head experience?

is there any headphones which do well in this area?

and btw i cant state my price range because i am not from the US. maybe you guys can just suggest me a few headphones and i will check them out

tq

I don't think either will do too well for soundstaging, though you'll have to talk to actual owners to confirm. I've heard the HD598s have a pretty good soundstage, and are good for all-around listening and movies.

For the office, if you have co-workers who will get annoyed, closed will be the better option. As for the AD700s, I agree with what the previous poster said about their reputation, and I agree that the could be a bit too bass-light if you're used to bass-heavy headphones. I still think the HM5 and SRH840 are worth a look, though.

I have been primarily using my UE10's but I am looking to get a set of somewhat portable cans. My music ranges from acid jazz (medeski martin wood, john schofeild, ect) hip hop ( afu rah, jurassic 5, ect), Phish, Rock. alittle of everything. My price range is around 300-500. I can not decide what to get. I know I dont want any portible amp that I have to charge and worry about all the time, and I want to drive it directly from my galaxy nexus or my ipod. Right now I am looking at  DT990( Always wanted theses do they need an amp?) , HD558, ATH m50, beats mixr, and beats studio.

any advice. I want to jump back in slow but right!

For portables, there's always the HD25-1, M80, DT1350, ES10, etc. Beats Studio aren't particularly Hi-fi, and you pay a lot for the name and ANC. No clue as to the mixrs, as they're new, but Beats aren't all that well-regarded. The others are of questionable portabiloty, if that's what your looking for, because of size, openness, and cable length, respectively.

Well, what kind of music do you listen to, and what kind of sound signature are you looking for?

Yeah, this is probably a better question for the DAC/amp forum, but if you're just playing off an iPod, the integrated DAC won't do you any good, as it only works with USB output (or so I've heard). With an iPod, you're better off going for a dedicated amp.

Just for the record, you can get pretty good bass out of an IEM like the Atrio MG7s, though you won't get quite the thump. You can still kind of feel it if they're bassy enough, though.

The Creative Aurvana Lives are very well regarded as a sub-$100 all-around headphone, and is currently going for $55 over at Amazon, or will drop down again soon.

Well, according to jude on his Head-Fi videos, the Sennheiser MM450 is the best bluetooth headphone he's heard, though they run for about $500... THey have cheaper cans in the same series, however.

D7000's are amazing for music, but for gaming I feel they could be better. Sound positioning is "a breeze" to pick up I heard, that's true most of the time, but sometimes I find myself turning the opposite way on MW3 or can't hear foot steps til they're close to me. My friends with the cheaper versions of Turtle Beaches hear Stealth Bombers before I can and I'm confused on that note lol

So a couple questions if anyone can answer them please.

1. How should I position the D7000s on my ears/head for the best results? I'm finding the band just a little to the front from halfway on my head, and my ears trying to hug the back of the cans.

2. A new gaming headset is out of the question after recently purchasing the D7000s... As I mentioned before I go to college. Waiting inbetween classes I use a pair of cheap Skullcandy buds. I want to upgrade my portable headgear. I'm into the whole D7000 sound, but wanting a little more bass to kick in if anyone could recommend any in-ears to do that. I've never searched anything on them yet so Idk the price ranges. My budget is $120 if that's doable.

Thanks

Are you looking for pure bass or just something more fun? The Atrio MG7 is a common recommendation for purely bassy IEMs, and are like $99 with a 50% off coupon that's been circulating. The JVC FXT90 is one up-and-coming headphone for the fun segment. To get a feel for your options, I second the recommendation to check out ljokerl's review thread.

What's going on guys. Firstly - this is my 1st post ever so bare with me if I sound stupid. I dont feel like going through all the topics so I thought I'd ask my question here.

My question is this: I want to buy new over-ear headphones. I'm gonna be using them mostly with my iPhone 4s.

I'm willing to pay 300-500$ for the headphones. I know some of you gonna hate me for saying this but Ive had Beats By Dre Studios for about six months now and after doing quite a lot of research Ive found out how over priced they are. In my opinion they are pretty good for hip-hop songs but some other genres simply don't sound good anymore. But anyways back to the topic.

What I do love about the Studios is the bass and that's what I'd like to hear with the new headphones too. Pretty much all of my songs are 320kb/s.

Ive read some pretty good reviews about Sennheiser HD650s. But I dont wanna spend my money without hearing your opinions too.

Thanks for the replies already!
