How powerful will the amp be? Right now I'm using a Cowon J3 with the Hifiman RE262 and could use a little more power.

I haven't been closely following this thread, but I've noticed a few important updates since the last time I posted here.

Have details regarding the software/OS been released yet?

Is the recent picture of the X3 (posted a few pages ago) the final design? Does it have a microSD card slot?

Is there any news about the sound quality of this device? i.e. DAC chip used, etc

What output ports are being planned? i.e. optical out, headphone out, line out?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I would appreciate any answers you guys can provide. :)

No details on OS yet. People here want Rockbox or Android but that probably if not most definately isn't going to happen.

There is a button on the top of this page that says "View All". You can see it there. They did not say if it was Final. No idea on Micro SD yet but I believe it will have one.

WM8740 DAC with the AD8397 op amp. FiiO generally uses a pre amp and "main" amplifier. I guess you could call the AD8397 the High Output Buffer amp.

There is no news. The product isn't out yet, but it does use the same op amp and DAC of the E17 as of right now.

I believe just headphone and line out.

Ah OK, thanks for the clarification about the OS. Rockbox would be welcome because of its shear number of customization options (currently I use a Sansa Clip Zip), but I can understand if it isn't. I'm not too big on Android as other Android PMP's I've seen are only "meh" in terms of usability (Cowon's newer products for example). Is there any word on the predicted battery life? Based on FiiO's past products, they tend to have a pretty decent battery life.

I think it would behoove everyone if the OP can be edited to include all relevant updated information (pics, renders, specs, etc.) and the title edited to state this. That way there is no confusion and there are fewer posts asking repeated questions.

Well what's more to say? Feiao said don't hold your breath and it will be released when it is released. Mostly likely around  April or May of next year. ;)

It was and still hush hush, all what we knew mostly came from that live show, and rumors.

The project could be doomed, with the death of Steve, no one knows for sure.

But I have high hopes for the X3, and I know they will not let us down.

I thought the specs quoted in the first post say "TF Card". Did I miss something later on?
