Does the firmware allow you to add songs/albums to the playlist you are currently listening to? I believe it is called a dynamic playlist, correct me if I'm wrong! It is one of my favourite features of rockbox and absolutely necessary for me to have in a portable audio player! For the rest, I think I'm already sold!

is there a list of firmware features which it will implement? since firmware will make or break the player, it's the soul of the device!! Maybe we can compile a list of features that we on head-fi would love to see implemented in the firmware?

Any new LODs in the making ? as for "Micro USB to Micro USB" (for the S3/Note2 and a DAC/amp)

I thought it will be pretty thick but it is not!

Good job. But will there be any digital output?

I'm looking forward to the X3. Should be a great transport to connect a DAC/AMP to as well as a great little one-box solution for my ultra-portable needs. smily_headphones1.gif

If one cannot see the value in a thin and, by all accounts, dirt cheap all in one with digital and analogue outs, that's fine; there are other increasingly more expensive products available. However I'm looking forward to this projected $180 player (now that I've seen the size) to mate with the uha-6s digitally, of which I already own, and calling it quits as far as "rigs" go and will have spent half of the dx100. What firmware version will the dx100 be on then and will it sound as good as the current? And such is this circutise debate.

I Highly doubt even pairing the X3 with a good amp will compete with the DX100. It's nice to dream though. tongue.gif

Let's be honest here the X3 is really not here for that purpose and to think otherwise is naive. And yeah I do very much enjoy using my DX100 with the UHA6 MKII (Op Amp 8610) in particular now since 1.2.7 firmware update (big upgrade in sound quality now & on par with my desktop rig). Before on 1.1.7 the T1 had better synergy. Still both amps perform very well with this unit. Not that it's a requirement by any means but I love being able to improve things further and while I'm not moving around much I'll be very apt to use a portable amp with it :). Now if the X3 could compete with my Studio V 3rd ANV or even Rocoo BA that would be something.

Sigh. Everything is a contest. I just want a thin and light transport with digital out to pair with what i already own. Nothing niave on my part and the X3 seems to be the best offering available for this.

Never said that was naive as I agree it would be nice to have a device with a slim form factor with these inputs. I'm just saying thinking it will compare to a  DX100 is hoping for too much. Not even saying that is coming from your mouth, just putting it out there. But indeed if this unit can compare to the Studio V in sound quality I'll be very much inclined to jump on it (personally I still think this maybe asking for too much but I can dream as well). rolleyes.gif
