Recommendations for dj studio monitoring?

Budget's around 250.. Considering either the Beyer DT250_80 or the Senn HD280.. i'm listen to all kinds of music and wonder which one would be better in my case?

OT: If i'm looking for an all-rounder headphone, would i be best off with the closed or the open ones?

I can't speak for either of those phones, but I think closed is your best bet if you'll be doing dj studio monitoring.

I have never owned the beyers you mention, however the senns are a very good headphone for dj use. i have used it both at home and in a club, and they work very well in either setting.

you may wish to consider the AKG 271 Studio... I'm not going to go into too much detail as I'm new to this and havent auditioned many headphones... but perhaps someone else can do a compairison... (I did audition these against a set of 'professional' sonys [the 7509's I believe] and I preffered the AKG)

and as for beyerdynamics... I think the DT 831's are pretty popular as well...
