Yes, many are satisfied with the sound.

But because they are so popular, there are also a large number of people that are disappointed with them.

I don't know, are you a Sennheiser shill?

Do you only want to expound on the positive qualities while shushing any potential negative ones?

I don't know about you, but I like to point people to cans that they might want, and not ones that I own.

There's already a new post about a dissatisfied HD-650 owner.
If you don't get my original post then there's nothing more to say.

It seems to me that this not only applies to the HD800 but to every other make and model of headphone mentioned in these forum threads. If a Grado doesn't sound like it has grating highs to your ears, then why would you describe it as such? If a Denon has just the right amount of bass presence for your taste, then why would you feel compelled to state that it has too much?

The OP has heard the HD800 and found that it doesn't have enough bass presence for his taste. There are others who find the bass not only satisfactory but impressive. It's a matter of personal preference and the forum threads are testament to the subjective nature of our headphone listening experiences.

If you attach any importance to frequency graphs, the HD800 appears to have ample bass.

I'm not a shill and there's no need to be snide. I understand where you're coming from on this and I'm just questioning it.

I'm getting tired of arguing with every single person "questioning" where I'm coming from.

You're a dime a dozen.

oulalala..I have never thought that the HD800 would be a subject to argue that much about. is it because these cans are so expensive or is it the hunting instict of humans to find some flaws?

Maybe there has to be a standard headphone for all headfiers and than there is a basis of discussion :). I catch myself out sometimes when I want to hear any distortions described in this thread but up to now I couldnt find anything because of the fact that I am an "audiophile-amateur" :). For me it is really enough to go home with a smile because I am looking forward to hear my cans and at the end end this is really a special thing nowadays, to be satisfied with something :)..
