ok so I started getting these random shutdowns two days ago. The screen gos black as if I have just shut ti down, sound turns off, but the case lights, cup fan, and Gpu fan still run. I got this computer*most of it* a little over a month ago.

MOBO:Gigabyte something or rather*not sure on the model name ATM*

GPU:Gigabyte 9800 GT

RAM:4 GB rip jaw W/heat sink

HDD:seagate 150 GB *6years old*

Power supply:Corsair 850watt*4years old*

everything has been working fine until just randomly this happened, nothing out of the ordinary. I was playing Team fortress 2, stopped, listened to music, went to bed, woke up about 15min later and it was off. Now it turns off in random intervals and the only way I cant turn it back on is using the power button, unplugging it, and wait until it decides to work. I initially thought it was a HDD problem, so can anyone help??

Mobo failure? I have a Gigabyte, and on my first one, half the board died. It would turn on (you could hear the fan and see the video card lights), but nothing more.

Well on the plus side, my replacement (same model) has been running strong for over a year. Since the original fried I was smart enough to purchase an Unterruptible Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101343&cm_re=UPS_APC-_-42-101-343-_-Product
