Better than say something like the TubeMagic?

Well the TubeMagic has no internal DAC.

How about the Beresford Caiman. It seems to get positive reviews. I have the TC-7520 and I find it very enjoyable and very well priced.

Sorry, was referring to the TubeMagic DAC, seeing as I needed both.

TubeMagic A1 is a tube headamp

TubeMagic D1 is a DAC+headamp

I would say that the TubeMagic D1 is great for driving D2000! It is very versatile and easy to change the opamps inside to 'attune' the sound towards your preference!

Different headphone have different synergy with different headamp. It is easy to change the opamps inside to improve the synergy with different headphones rather than changing the entire amplifier althogether.

I have not done a 1v1 comparison against the E7+E9 combo before but my bet is that you will be satisfied with TubeMagic! beerchug.gif

OK guys, Beresford Caiman or TubeMagic D1?

I prefer the D1, but I've also heard great things about the Beresford.  For me, it all came down to inputs and outputs available, and so picked the D1.

The D1 is tweakable via tubes, opamps and sounds pretty good for the price.
