Best AES sound card

Hello!

I'm interested in computer-based digital source for my balanced DAC (North Star Desing DAC Extremo). I wonder which sound card is the best in terms of AES-output. I'm considering:

1. Lynx AES16 (PCI version). Why not AES16e (PCI Express)? It is impossible to find in Russia :(

2. RME HDSPe AIO. I'm not sure if only one AES output is suitable for me. As I understand, I need a PAIR of XLR to connect my DAC in balanced mode. And I don't know what they mean by "1 AES/EBU digital I/O, 192 kHz-capable "

3. RME HDSPe AES. Pretty expensive, being compared to 1) and 2).

Which variant I should go into?

Best Regards, Igor.

I'd say go with the Lynx. RME is very good but Lynx products are better. RME offers more flexible gear, but most reviews have Lynx ahead on sound quality. GO to gearslutz.com (pro-audio and studio gear site) and ask. The guys there will have extensively used both and you'll get a more informed answer than you might get here - for that specific question.
