Hiya

After lurking for a few days, I decided to make it official and join. Hello out there!

I've been "into" two-channel stereo for a few years now, and, since I've been working from home mostly, I've been able to listen to music on a system that I like very much. It's comprised of a lot of rotating parts, but what gets the most play these days are a pair of KEF 105s, an Odyssey Khartago amp, a Promitheus TVC, a Marantz SA-15s1 CD player, and an overhauled Fairchild 412 turntable.

I've recently taken on some contract work that will put me at a desk for 3 days a week, and this has me thinking about putting together an HP system. I have a pair of AKG K340s already, and an old Allied 935 tube integrated with a headphone out that seems to drive them okay. I don't yet know what kind of computer I'll have for work, so I suppose I'll be hanging around the boards here looking for which direction to take as I build this system. If my experience with 2-chan stereo is any indication, I'll be adding other pairs of cans to the stable relatively soon. :) And I'm certainly open to trying different amplification options. One of the things I like most about Head-Fi, in my experience so far, is its relationship to DIY. I built a CMOY (yeah, in an Altoids tin) a few months ago, and I've really enjoyed looking at all the plans for various amps out there.

Cheers, and I'll see you round the boards!
