CALLING OUT TO APURESOUND (loudly)

Morning Head-fi

I'm raising this issue here because I don't really know where else to...

I live in New Zealand. After very recently acquiring a pair of AKG K702's, I've been hunting after a balanced pair for my incoming Audio-Gd NFB-10ES.

I saw a set of AKG K701's going for sale in the classifieds here by a reputable US-based head-fier, and asked if he would be okay with sending them to APureSound for them to recable to balanced (and for APS to post them to me afterwards), which he was fine with.

I contacted APS via the order form on their website, and was responded to within 24 hours by Heli, saying that was fine, their address to post the headphones to and a quote.

I promptly forwarded the address to the head-fier who sent them the next day. Meanwhile, I emailed Heli back asking for their PayPal details to pay the amount.

7 days later I am yet to receive a reply to this email, despite 2 further emails to heli@apuresound.com (Heli's email), an email to order@apuresound.com and a PM to Alex's head-fi account. My 701's have been, according to the tracking number I have, at their address for four days.

There are 2 reasons I went with APS. 1. From numerous accounts they are at least among the best in cables in their price range. 2. I've seen a lot of love for APS on here in terms of how nice and caring they are to their customers.

I still have faith in APS, it's not like they have run away with my $. Maybe something has gone wrong with their email server or something has happened to someone in or close to the company? But no news has come up on their website, neither Heli nor Alex (via head-fi) have answered me in days...

If someone who knows Alex is able to point him to this thread or give me his personal email address or phone number via PM, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

If you are sure the headphones have reached Apuresound then it should be fine.

I contacted them few weeks ago and I only got a reply after 2 weeks. They can be quite slow in  replying back. Send them another email and give it a few more days, you should be fine.

2 weeks?

I thought 1 week was really slow for a small online company to reply to an email. I don't think I want to send them another email I've sent 3 + a PM, surely they won't have missed them all.

The tracking number says the headphones have reached their address but it would be nice to have confirmation from them.

I must say I'm pretty confused, on their website it says they usually reply within 2 days.

yup, on the website they tell that they would reply within 48hrs but their reply to my email was so late that I didnt expect a reply from them anymore and ended up purchasing the item from elsewhere

I can also say that Alex is backup with lots of work this time of year due to increase work load. I'd say give Alex some time im sure he is not trying anything funny.

Alright well thanks guys I guess I feel a bit more relaxed.

I wasn't thinking he was trying anything funny more something had happened.

I'm used to people trying too hard to sell me things.

I had contact on 22nd December explaining the server crash, answering where to direct payment to. I paid and sent an email again asking to confirm if the headphones were in fact there and got a reply on the 30th December acknowledging they have received the headphones and payment. So I am no longer worried albeit somewhat concerned at how long its going to be.

The Audio-GD NFB10ES (USB) I have been waiting months for after a long delay due to the circuit design being faulty (its a new product) has finally arrived in NZ for me. I was sure I was going to have a my balanced headphones well before my balanced dac/amp haha...

I've been giving them the benefit of the doubt as its been Christmas / New Year. I still think they could improve their customer service. I'm pretty confident the end product will be worth all this wait...

I sent them my headphones two months ago. I got a reply on Dec 21st that they should be shipped that week, but I haven't gotten anything yet.

I just wanted to come in here and apologize to everyone for any inconvenience this may have caused. As many of you know we have been swamped with orders during the holiday season and in addition to that we ran into some major server issues which set us back quite a bit. We have finally gotten all problems resolved and if you have not received a reply please resend it to heli@apuresound.com or please email me directly: alex@apuresound.com. All emails will now be responded to as we normally do in a timely fashion. smile.gif

Thanks,

Alex

Hmmmmm .... i made a paypal payment to this group about 3wks ago and have not heard a peep from these guys after sending at least 4 emails over this time. Alex are you there???? Can you please respond? Thank You

I made a large payment to them 4 weeks ago for various cables. I also sent them a pair of Denon headphones for modification. I have heard nothing back after many emails asking for status and confirmation that they received my headphones.

At this point, I have had enough. I just filed a dispute with PayPal while there is still time.

I do a large amount of online buying, both from US and foreign companies, and 99.9% of the merchants are excellent.

There is no excuse for this behavior and it is a terrible way to conduct a business.

How many of the merchants you normally deal with do custom work on things one at a time to order? I'd bet very few.

As far as I know Alex does all of his work himself, and answers all of his emails himself. Sorry, but a 1-man operation cant do it all, considering some customers who will call or email daily from day 1 (seriously, they are out there) there is a LOT for 1 guy to do. Now, do you want some amateur hack working on your headphones, or someone who has done this a few times? Of course you want someone with experience, if you wanted an amateur you would have sent them to me or any number of other DIYers. Alex is a good guy, simmer down.
