I would think that if any damage was to occur it would be the tubes, depending on what pin ended up in which socket.  If they worked fine though after reseating them properly you should be fine.  The amp should be fine.  Can you plug the headphones into any other source and see if the crackling noise is possibly a problem with the phones?
