Recent Classical Purchases - Zuill Bailey

I've recently picked up a couple of CDs by Zuill Bailey.  I highly recommend both!  What are your thoughts on Bailey?

Any recent classical purchases / releases you recommend?

I saw him perform live at a (very) small venue once, playing the Mendelssohn sonatas. He was a very engaging guy, and a good cellist. I have the same Beethoven recording and found it quite good (unfortunately it's at home and I'm at college, so my impressions aren't very fresh in my mind there.)

I just picked up Zuill Bailey's Russion Masterpieces for Cello and Orchestra.  Highly recommended as well. . .

it is nice to see that record labels are moving towards balance between sexes: after all those dolled-up girls playing the fiddle, now we have a hunk playing cello smily_headphones1.gif

I just got The Cello Suites. It's a lovely performance; but I noticed halfway through listening that I can hear his breathing, and it's distracting! It's the sort of thing that once you notice, it's hard for it not to stick out like a red baboon ass.
