My beta22 is broken - now I need some help from you guys!

Two years ago I received my beta22 / opus DAC two-box amplifier built på HeadFi-user Mazuki (it is reviewed on HeadFi, actually. The review is written by Skylab). A year ago the amplifier broke due to some nasty spikes in voltage in my building, and I sent the whole thing back to Mazuki for repair. I live in Northern Norway so the transport was costly and took quite some time.

Since I got the amp built Michael has gotten very busy, and while he has checked the amplifier, the repair hasn't really happened - yet it's more than 6 months since he got it from me. It's the ground channel board that is broken, and need replacing. I bought a ground kit from Glass Jar Audio - and he has built some of it. Michael does not have the time to do the repair really, and it will most propably take very long before he can get to it.

However, with his knowledge and encouragement, I am now turning to the great HeadFi DIY-community for help. If anyone is willing to help me out in getting the amplifier working again, please PM me, or let me know in this thread. I will, of course, pay for parts and labour.

Thanks!

Well, I am still looking. Michael says the following about the repair:

What would really speed up the process if you can find someone in the US to help me build and bias (setup) the ground channel and fix the right. When I was building the amp the first time, I was building two other beta22s so I assembled 9 boards in parallel. That really sped up the build process and reduced errors. It's much slower to build this one module now alone.

Another problem is the power supply, which is needed to trouble-shoot and tweak the modules. Now that the power supply is hooked to the entire amp, it's hard to use it alone for the new modules.

So if you could ask if anyone is willing to:

1. Finish assembling the ground channel
2. Fix whatever is wrong with the right channel

Thanks! :)

No offense to Mazuki but with the kit from Glass Jar you can build the entire channel in an evening.  If he's unable to fix it he should do what he can to help you find someone who can.  Having someone build and attempt to bias the board is just wasted effort.
