Thanks!
Well allot of it was trial and error, the most important thing was getting the sizes correct to fit into the connector, or the headphone itself. I used Mogami W2330 cable from Mogami, single stranded so I got 16 feet which was just long enough for portable use. I got the headphone used here in the FS section, it came with no stock cable rather with another cable that someone had tried to recable with. That particular cable was thinner and easier to work into techflex and connector/headphone but was stiff and really microphonic. You could also try going with starquad, which I had previously ordered but didn't get enough. If you are using heatshrink be sure to have various sizes, and be sure to pull cable all the way through before applying heatshrink, a clamp of some sort could also come in handy for holding down techflex (I ran into problems with that when using first cable). The hardest part was just figuring out what size cable/heatshrink/techflex to order. Luckily with the litz braid I think I should be able to get by without heatshrink as the braid splits into two pretty well and shouldn't slide around much, also if using a thick cable (this particular cable I think is 28awg, but still very thick with the shielding) be sure to get appropriate size connector. I used a Switchcraft Mini 3.5mm Gold Plug with Nickel Handle here, there are some nice neutriks out there that are really nice and cheap but much too small. But the best advice is just go ahead with it, even if you get the wrong part here and there you can usually use a cable/connector for another project, and diy parts usually aren't too expensive.
