I've finally bought those STAX headphones I've been thinking about for ten years. The hard part is getting rid of my old gear. I LOVE this amp. 15wpc tube headphone speaker amp using the wonderful 6V6 tubes. This is the V2 version, nicer styling, two inputs, remote control. I upgraded to NOS RCA tubes and new Tung-sol 6V6's. The tung-sols are incredible in this amp.
This is a great integrated amp to drive speakers with. Hook it up to an 87+db efficient speaker and you have just heavenly sound. I had a modified Blue Circle SBH, which is a great amp (read the reviews). I was curious about tubes, so I bought this and was shocked, absolutely shocked at the improvement. It has that real 'you are there' natural sound on things like flute, piano, harp, etc.
List is $1195, and that's not counting the hundred dollars worth of upgraded tubes. Unit is less than a year old and just like new. Will ship double boxed. I ran a pair of Lawton D5000's with this and it was a great combination. With 15wpc you don't really have to worry about having enough power.
