Auzentech forte stock incoming

Looks like some shipments of Auzentech cards are due in the coming weeks. That is pretty good news for me- been waiting almost 6 months for the forte to get back in stock!

http://www.auzentech.com/site/company/pressrelease_12062010_sound_card.php

My question is whether I should expect online retailers to have the cards available starting around the time indicated, or if that this means I need to place an order now on the Auzentech site to secure a card. Back in June I decided to hold off on purchasing the forte to see if the price would go down, only to see it climb to nearly $200 as stocks depleted. Don't want to miss my chance this time around!

If anyone has some inside info on the best course of action, it is much appreciated.

I dont think you should touch anything with Auzentech in it, especially the Forte. if you want something with a headphone amp, get the Asus card or if you really wanna get Auzentech, get the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD. At least no one is complaining about dead soundcard in their forum.

But it does look like some people are having problems with the headphone amp on the home theater hd ..so I don't really know if purchasing Auzentech is wise.

I don't know if I agree. I purchased the Auzen forte exactly one year ago. I can honestly say it was one of the best purchases I've ever made for my computer. I don't know if you game, but if you do it doesn't get much better than the forte for that price. Gaming just became fun again, and for the sound quality the media mode sounds incredible. I love that baby.

I do game, that's why I bought something with X-fi. Otherwise I would have gone with a Asus soundcard. Long story short, it's a hit or miss on this card. Either you're gonna love it, or it will break down on you within 2-4 months of purchasing it, and you will end up having to go through Auzentech rma process...So far I've been waiting since end of July.

I will be using the card primarily for gaming, and as I understand it the forte is basically THE card for that purpose. The general consensus I hear is that you need the x-fi technology for the performance increase, and the forte has the best sound of any x-fi based card.

X-Fi Forte is not THE card for gaming, but it does have that headphone amp..

As I was saying, If you wanna purchase it, then good luck have fun :) , but I'm telling you there's some funky stuff about this card. There's someone here who said they had the card for a year with no problems, and there are others who are in the same boat as me (and surprisingly with the same exact issue I am having).

I personally should have searched google for "X-fi Forte problems" before purchasing it.

Mind if I just ask Quakky, what issue are you having? I would be a liar if I said I didn't run into problems, however none of them were anything serious. It's just the usual drivers wreaking havoc haha. Very easy to fix on my part though.

My current issue is I can't get a hold of the RMA department of Auzentech. It's been silent since july. Now with that I have a dead card. it was doing this:

http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=vngz7o&s=7

and

http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=ndvr8&s=7

2nd video shows there really isnt any driver "tweaking" that I can do.

It's the same exact problem as a few other people on here are having, along with a bunch more on Forte forum in auzentech.

Now I know this is a hardware failure (meaning not a software issue), and No it's not a bad OPAMP. The root of the issue is on the other side of the card...very far away from the OPAMP.

If you are really interested, search the forum for the other posts I made that explain my findings.

I also am no liar when I say this is a card you want to stay away from if you havn't purchased it. My 10 yearold sound blaster Live 5.1 still works like a champ. that's a soundcard that has done it's job.

Hmm... Did you turn on a lawnmower in your room whilst also filming? Haha, that's ridiculous man!

What's more ridiculous is that I am right, and Auzentech should do something about it, but instead they are ignoring me lol...at least with the new batch something should be done to prevent this somewhat common problem. But considering they are putting 0 effort into their drivers, there is no way this card will get its fix.
