NI Audio2DJ or Portable DAC-amp

Hello everyone,

I not really liking the sound of my laptops sound card. So I was thinking about buying a new external sound card or portable DAC/amp. The headphones that I use are Poineers, the HDJ-500 (40 ohms). Not really high end gear but I'm very happy with it and I mix some music some times with a midi controller. So that's why I bought them and that's why I was thinking about a the Native Instruments Audio 2DJ. They always get good comments in the DJ world

But I wanna know how it compares to some portable DAC-amps like the Fiio E7 or maybe the iBasso D2+, wich is a little more expensive. I know you can't use them for DJ-use. But I wanna know if the NI Audio 2DJ could compete with them in terms of sound quality.

I have a NI Audio 2 DJ and that thing sure is loud biggrin.gif and the sound is quite clear IMHO. Haven't tried Fiio E7, and didn't get the iBasso D2+ because of some not so favorable reviews of it. I'm listening to my Allen & Heath's XD-53 from a PA2V2 that is connected to one channel of the Audio 2 DJ. You could use something like that for monitoring and using the other channel for mixing, for instance. Though I'm not sure if that would be your purpose.

i have a Pioneer HDJ 500 too....

i dunno how it would sound on an audio 2 DJ but i does sound ok on a numark omni control with a built in soundcard...

one thing is for sure, the HDJ 500 is ok for miing but for enjoying music i'd go for the grado...

i also have the Fiio e7 and it does add a little more soundstage on both the hdj 500 and sr60, however i spend less time with the hdj 500 and thinking of changing it to a tma1...
