I am talking my Ipod Classic player with Ibasso T3 analog amp.

ahhh i see. and i agree.

sometimes i read comments about the w4/r and im like are they hearing what im hearing out of my W4r's because they sound incredible/phenomenal out of high end audio components, amps/dacs/cables/interconnects/ect.... with high end source components its like the w4r on steroids amazing reference.

i just think sometimes people only judge a book buy its cover and its doing injustice to the w4r..but then again most people probably cant afford a $650.00 amp,$300.00 dac,$300.00 cable,$200.00 interconnect,$200.00 dap,$350.00 Iem's thats a $2,000.00 setup....to me its worth it, the sound your iem's are going to produce is only as good as its source components. but thats just me

Pretty decent, I got it from them at $299 when they had the clearance sale, but that's over now.

I don't totally agree.  Not all IEM's need that much "help" like W4 does.   To be able to just use IEM and player and achieve exceptional sound is a big bonus.  I get this with W3.  After all, portable listening should be about simplification.  But I get what you are saying and that's why it's a hobby.

My Fiio x3 should arrive Tuesday I am excited to hear how my W4R's sound. Anyone with the combo let me know your experience?

I have put for my pico up for sale as it doesnt stack well with my portable setup however after spending the last few hours rediscovering alot of my music laptop>mediamonkey>wasapi>Wireworld Ultra Violet>pico dac/amp>W4R ciem I dont think that I can part with it.  There is certainly something magical about this setup and I cannot find a fault with the 4r's, they simply play everything marvelously.

I updated my initial build impressions on the Fisher remold as I had the time today to spend with them and to see them in better light.  Below are the photos taken today.  Still an excellent value for 135 US imho.

I think the w4 is good for everything actually as long as it suits your preferences. The biggest thing is the warmth as it probably is one of the warmest iem I have ever owned. However I may be one of the few here at headfi that doesn't believe in genre specific headphones. The UE900 is just bad imo.

So for $135.00, Fisher does a custom shell for the W4R? How much for the audiologist moldings? Did the sound change?

It's actually $95 now. As far as impressions they vary by audiologist. The prices for NYC range from $50-$100 or so so probably should be somewhere in that vicinity for you.
