All are in my price range. Obviously with my s3 I am carrying one device...I kinda like one device for all which is why I mentioned dap's but if I amp/dac my existing devices(S3 w/neutron or clip zip) would I achieve better sq than a dap? Would like to spend no more than 250.00

Anyone? I would like a couple of opinions

If you like the sound but cant stand the fit try the reshell route. I was nervous about my first pair of customs however you will get a much better fit and I find it hard to go back to a uiem after having a ciem, for me the fit is that much better not mention the isolation.

And for the price of the 4r if you got in on the 299 deal you can have a set of ciems for around 400 dollars. Simply hard to beat imho.

I'd love to try customs but I'd feel like a total idiot going to get fitted.

You  will get over that.  Make sure to find a reputable audiologist.

I guess if one likes the sound of the W4 that much but I wouldn't say it's hard to beat especially at that price level. I would probably have sold it however.

Really?  A ciem for around 4 bills?  1964 maybe?

The 1964 triple driver I owned was good but it's been improved to a v3 now but the jh5 is very good considering the price but I did enjoy the w4 when I owned them. I thought they were the best universal I owned but that was before there were custom made universals.

I didn't understand a word my friend. Can you please explain yourself a bit better not using "but"? It's for your own good.

I still think W4 is a niche IEM.  Amazing with vocals and acoustic but I find it very average with everything else. (although I don't listen to classical). I also think a quad driver simply MUST have a fuller sound.  Same goes with UE900.  Horrible in that regard.  JH5 is brighter with better clarity than W4 but W4 is smoother and more refined sounding (but thinner sounding too).

Where do you find this kind of price ($299) for the 4R ? Does someone knows a good website where I can have a good deal. Because I can just find it at 499$. Thank you

Darn, I see the price went up on Amazon as well. Looks like you might have missed out on Westone's first clearance sale after announcing the new series.

I'd wait until the holidays for their price to reach all time lows...

They're $349 at I think it's called Earsolutions or something like that.

but are you referencing to the w4r straight out of a dap. or a full rig Dap,Amp,Dac,Interconnects,Cables Ect

Because i feel there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference in the way the Westone W4r Sound With a Full ''Portable'' Rig

Agree...source and power is important with W4.

I am talking my Ipod Classic player with Ibasso T3 analog amp.
