Just got w4r a while ago. Great IEM I must say. I have had many IEMs in the same price range and even higher, but w4r has not disappointed me yet.

In the W4 or sibilant IEMs? Anyone have a vendor source for these yet?
post #3786 of 40912/2/13 at 6:37amCan you share your source for the star tips? The folks from Westone told me they would be available in 1-2 weeks from their web-site a month ago, but the last time I checked, they were not yet posted for sale. Any leads? Thanks.
post #3787 of 40912/2/13 at 8:16am60% in W4 but it cuts any siblance down dramatically.
Being a new product I don't think the star tips are available anywhere yet as an accesory but some carriers are supplying with W-series Westones and I think someone said they even received them with their UM3X's as well.
I got mine directly from Westone a few months back as prototypes. Over the years I probably have about 6-8 different IEM's registerd through them so they must have seen my profile as a good customer and did me a favor which I appreciate. Not sure what the hold up is as they are just silicone tips?

Just received my W4Rs and I must say I'm impressed. These have replaced my BA200s. For the money, I think the BA200s win hands down, but the cable on the W4Rs is so much better (at least you feel like you don't have to be as gentle), pretty good fit (almost the same, with the BA200s a little above), and a little bit better sound. I noticed with the different tips, the sound does change a little. I liked the double flanges on the BA200s and will prob buy some for the W4s, as the triple flanges don't fit as well nor are as comfortable; but I do like the sound that it produces. I think overall my favorite tip to come with the W4R is the medium star tip. The memory wire is interesting and takes a minute to get it shaped but once you do, your good. I love the accessories and the case, though for temporary movement I will use my Shure case and for more potentially harmful movements like putting into a bag, I will use the hard case.
I got a great deal through Westone with a military discount. I think they are deff worth what I paid. Now if someone was to pay retail, $350 more than the BA200s, it is not worth it (bang for the buck), at least to me. Not yet anyway. With deals from ear phone solutions for around $350-$375, I think that's a closer price to what they should be had for. Either way, I'm deff loving them and they are built really well. These are a keeper and hopefully will be the last pair of IEMs I buy for a while.

How Many sets of tips are you guys receiving in the new packages? I received 3 sets of complys (light grey), 1 triple flange (white), and 5 sets of star tips. Every picture I see, they show 10 sets total. Is everyone getting the same thing?
Edited by ksimm033 - 2/3/13 at 3:22ampost #3790 of 40912/3/13 at 9:29amI have had my w4s for about 24 hours. Such a step up over anything else I have. I love the clarity, the imaging, separation and ability to show details so much. It is so light but still feels well built. I like the sound of the shure olives but I ended up cutting the stalk off the grey silicon and using the tips of my MH1C. Love those tips get a seal so easy, post #3791 of 40912/3/13 at 10:45am- aras

Anyrecommendations for W4 amp? I'm currently running it through Audioengine D1 and I like it. I'm wondering if there is something better out there for W4.

Just giving my tip input here as a seasoned W4 user.
Large grey silicone all the way here with pinhole diameter. These are the only tips that I found gave body and overall performance. Seal instant also.
I have 4 pairs of Shure olives here doing, erm nothing. Great seal but the larger output bore negates bass.
Put it this way, if the grey silicone didn`t exist then these would go up for sale, no doubt.

Did you get the "star" tips with yours? Shocked to hear the old silicone olives would be better than the star tips.

Sinth, are these "large grey silicone" tips with the pinhole from Shure or are they factory Westone tips?
