GR10 midrange clarity is better than W4.  Possibly best I have ever heard.  Treble is about equally extended and smooth on both.  But I think W4 beat GR10 soundly in bass and soundstage.  W4 can also go louder before distorting if that matters.

Spyro, as long clarity is not as bad as SM3 or slightly better than UM3X, I will be happy. GR10 is a very nice IEM but as you also said bass is kind of lacking. Surprisingly, my favorite so far is eph-100 with very nice soundstage, well balanced/clear bass and midrange. I just wish it had slightly more air and sparkle in the highs.

Yea I don't find it real sparkly either but then it seems the sparkle comes out of nowhere and wows you with certain recordings.  Might just be the superior reproduction and detail retrieval of W4 reflecting the recording.  Same thing with the bass.   With a great recording I find W4 lacking virtually nothing.

I have to be real careful about ever thinking of parting with W4 as I have been known to sell and re-buy many different IEM's.  I think W4 is another one of those that would be a huge regret getting rid of it.

Ordered a pair; hope these actually have somewhat sparkly highs since I like TF10 highs haha.

It's just like Spyro said, the highs can alternate from laid back most of the time, to sparkly. Maybe a small peak in the FR that's only evident on some songs? By contrast, the PFE232 are sparkly all the time. 

The PFE232 are definitely sparkly all the time *_* Even at low listening volumes, which is great.

Isn't that sparkly effect on the IEM can cause fatigue effect ?

How are the mids on PFE232 ? I know bass is quite strong with them.

GR10 has quite a bit of sparkle but never causes fatigue. Excessive can be bad of course.

well when I had my W4s, the treble at first seemed light? and I bought an all silver cable for the treble, which can really effect certain elements of a sound signiture when it is of balance, but when I finally recieved the silver cable from Chris_Himself, it seemed as if the treble with the W4s had really improved by quiet a bit? to the point where I didn't want the treble to be even more sparkly? it had settled in to where I was liking them alot,

I wound up using the all silver cable on my ASG-1.2s, which needed it, in the end  my ASGs are my go to set of IEMs? seems to balanced to where I am liking the uber bass, and mid centric sound of them, and along with the all silver cable they have just the right sparkle to the treble? freakishly awesome! although the CLAS, and the L3 amp also help with what sound is coming out of the ASGs!

so although BAs aren't supposed to need burning in, I found that the W4s really benefitted after about 60 or so hours of play time on them, along with some intense pink, white, and frequency sweeps sessions, in the end the treble came around on them, I was really quiet surprised, but in the end end! lol, the ASGs won over the bass head in me? hhmmm go figure,

Moreso if you listen loud.  At lower listening levels I don't think it would matter.

Especially if it's excessive and peaky. Less so if it's smoothed out, like the Phonaks. Both aren't too fatiguing anyways.

Yep! Really nice fit with them, deep seal, good juicy sound. Still waiting for those Epic Tips from Westone to try out though.
