Update: my original plan was to try the Maggies with the HK receiver first & then get a dedicated amp right away only if necessary. However, in searching the local Craigslist classifieds, I found an Adcom GFA-545 II for cheap...REALLY cheap: $20!! I took a chance on a "non working" amp & as it turns out, it only needed replacement of a few internal fuses (cost of $3) & now it sounds as good as new (at least what I imagine it must have sounded like new). The MMGs come in Friday. Just out of curiosity, I think I'll try a comparison between
the HK 525 & the Adcom for amping. Will share the results once I do.

. My equipment (along with everything else) had to be moved to another room for now & so nothing's plugged in...
. I've also read that sidewall proximity/reflections are less of an issue with the Maggies...but, I guess I'll find out soon enough.
