UFC 124: GSP Koscheck 2 - Page 2

I am rooting for Koscheck too.... would be very interesting to have a bully like him destroy GSP, and then have a rubber match in the future. I don't think is going to happen though, that Canadian kicks ass!!tongue.gif

Most decent pubs will be ordering the UFC, at least here in Toronto, every bar has it.

Just call your local Buffalo Wild Wings (if there is one there) I'm sure they're all showing it.  Or just call up any of the bars around you and ask them.  I know that like 3 of the bars around here are playing it (but I'm not 21 =[)

Once again Koscheck makes the mistake of trying to do it as a Striker and for the most part he ignored his primary strength, and paid the price.

I can't wait to see his eye tomorrow.

He got hurt, bad.  His eye and his leg are both in bad condition.

I really enjoyed that fight. Call me childish, but watching Koscheck get completely destroyed in the stand-up after calling GSP a lay and pray artist (more or less) was utterly orgasmic. GSP may not have been able to KO him, but he did humiliate him for five rounds, scarring his ego (and his body) for fights to come. Score one for the nice guys!

I think GSP never had the intention of knocking out Koscheck, it would've been too much a risk, so he settled on punishing the bully for 5 rounds, and a fine job he did.

^ He said he did in the post fight interview, though it'd could'be just been made up on the spot.

I agree.  I think he just wanted to hurt him.  After Koscheck was talking bad about him and Montreal.  I'm just glad they squashed it after the fight and GSP was a good guy about it.

yesterday I was watching the fight while listening with my 7506's and everytime GSP landed a leg kick to Koscheck's left knee, someone in the audience was shouting OUCH!, F&%*!, OOHH!, DAMN!tongue.gif

A bit disappointed that GSP couldn't KO/sub Koscheck.

GSP utilized his jab effectively (breaking Koscheck's right orbital bone, the area of the skull around your eye socket, from reports on Sunday) and just kept punishing Josh on the right side of the face.  I'm guessing his left leg was feeling the effects of all the leg kicks as well.  While exciting finishes and knockouts like earlier in the card or the previous week's Strikeforce card makes for good entertainment, this was still a great main event.  I like the surgeon's precision GSP took in his striking approach with Josh after he saw that his takedowns were getting stuffed by Josh in the early rounds.  Also, unlike a big knockout, Josh will remember GSP completely dominating in this fight and you saw it in the humility he expressed post fight.
