In fact, I'm quite satisfied with my E7. I was just wondering whether it is a good idea to "upgrade" to a bit more expensive and possibly better amp/dac like ibasso D4,  even though volume-wise, I've never had problem even with Cowon J3 and Fiio E7.  Given the same level of volume, if the SQ improvement between D4 and Fiio E7 is just marginal, then I would definitely not go for any other amp/dac. :) I'm afraid once I get into the world of "decent amps/dacs", there would be Money problem but also relationship problem! My gf uttered "No more headphones...."very_evil_smiley.gif.....

I have not tried ibasso dac/amp so I can't say for sure but I highly doubt you will hear the difference, unless you have super sensitive ears. But most importantly, when your gf says no more, I would heed that warning if you want to enjoy listening to your phones in peace.

In fact, my gf is also quite satisfied with these headphone-duo. Fortunately, somebody gave the Fiio E5 away, so I let my gf have control over volume. kk. Interestingly, my gf always says Phiaton ms400 is better than pro 900 in every aspect. Probably, for her, every aspect may refer to design and comfortability though. (the thing is Phianton ms400 is like $300 in Korea...Irony for me. It's just like Samsung. Sell their products in the domestic market at much higher prices and gain some price competitiveness abroad. Thanks God, I got used one, but as good as new one at around $160)

Anyhow, thank you  for all your advices!

I'll be visiting Korea in 1.5 months. Anything interesting I should know about the audiophile scene in Korea? Any phones that I should look for (and are super cheap) wink.gif

Serious?? kk on what purpose? But I'm afraid that almost every headphones and relevant products are overpriced in Korea. Except some Ultrasone headphones..^^; I would definitely say amazon prices are much better deals.

Ex) Beyer 880 or  770pro? In Korea, from the open market seller, its almost $370.

I think the prices are overall 20~30% inflated.

X2.

Also, does anyone know where I can get the screw in mechanism for the 900s?

It's just silver-plated copper cable with a Pailiccs and a Sennheiser plug. It's just perfect for the portable use!

Silver cable is just too much for me. I would never go for it.( Again, my gf and likely my future wife...k)

I assume it is also stiffer than the silver plated copper cable, isn't it?

I think I was lucky since the size of the Sennheiser plug is just tightly fit to the headphone.

Contact warrior05, who made the cable for my Pro 900s. He gets Ultrasone compatible screw-in connectors for the ones he does, as that's how my cable attaches. I have photos of it a bit farther back in this thread....

You deserve the credit for many of us pulling the trigger.

Yea after listening to the 900's for a few hours I think that headphone searching has finally come to a stop. Time too look for an AMP that pairs with this headphone. What are some amps that are good for this headphone?
