1/8" mini plug for DIY cable that's iPod with Case Friendly - Suggestions?

I'm replacing the coiled cable on my Beyrdynamic DT250 80 ohm with the Beyer K190 straight cable.  This cable is unterminated, so I'm looking for some suggestions.

I'm going to use this primarily with my iPod, unamped.

This iPod has an acrylic case, which ads some bulk around the headphone jack.

The problem is - some 1/8" plugs don't fit right with the case on.  I have a Switchcraft 1/8" plug - it doesn't fit.  The Neutrik doesn't, either.

The new Denon AHD-1100 has an interesting plug - it looks like it's designed to tackle this case problem..

Suggestions?
