SRS for iWOW for iPhone and iPod

OK guys, here are my impressions on this device. I'll welcome any feedback.

This little thingy plugs into your iPhone LOD dock and it does change the quality of sound:

The bass is much deeper and more defined
The mids and highs are crisper and clearer
There is SOME surround sound effect, but not too much
Sound volume is definitely amplified - it does choke my ES7's with bass at full volume.

The iPhone app is pretty much useless. It does let you tweak some settings, but one could live without it.

So far you can only buy it for $80 plus tax. If it were $20, it would be a keeper for sure. I guess they want you to pay for research.

It kind of reminds me of the sound I get from my mini^3, but we all know that's a superior device and it costs around 120 custom built. So far I haven't figured out how to make it (mini^3) portable with my iPhone (taping it to it doesn't sound like such a great idea).

Any ideas, suggestions? I still have 14 days to return the SRS device.

Thanks.

I am pairing with JH11 and quite impressed with the demo video which can be play without iWOW Adaptor, have you ever try run the application attach to external amp via LOD?thanks

Yep, it asks for the iWow adapter. Like I mentioned before, if I could make my mini^3 + iPhone combo portable, I wouldn't have the need for it at all. There could be another application to enhance the sound (not srs). Gotta do my research on that. 87 bucks is too steep.

If it's anything like SRS for your computer, it's going to be something that's impressive at first but also something that you'll learn to hate... and end up not using.

I disagree with that statement. I've been using SRS software on my computer for the past two or three years. Combined with Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and SoundBlaster X-Fi Music Edition, it's pretty damn good - and I got it for free. For me it's the other way around - I like it, i stick with it, then I cannot live without it ;-) So the question is, is there a workaround? An app that does the same thing, maybe?

Officially - it's not worth it. So far it's good only for iPhone 3G/3GS, makes the phone very clumsy to use, and it drains the battery. This one is a return.

Thank you.

just curious, which one is this because I want to get the iwow-2 because the old one won't work with iphone. I found one for 50 on amazon and I got some gift cards you think it worth fifty?

I paid 34$ on amazon with free shipping, was not in a hurry 7 days to get it. I like it so far.
