Well.... I kinda expect that it wouldn't be an amazing auditory experience. I don't know. On the other hand PortaPro's are pretty bass heavy anyway, and I tried spreading them out on my desk, then slamming my head in between them while listening. Meh. :P

maybe you could make some loaded/folded horn enclosures for them and make some bedside/desk/bathroom/kitchen/.... speakers.

Same here, have a pair of working XB700 driver units. Whole thing fell apart when the four little screws got screwed.
Also wondering what to do with them huge pads.
