What to do wth these....

So. I have some old Koss PortaPro drivers. The headband snapped, and I decided I could make something with them. Here's what I've got to work with:

They get pretty loud, I was thinking I could sew them into something like a pillow, or a sweatshirt, just for fun. Any suggestions?

Also the 3.5mm Jack is getting a little sketchy. It works fine 95% of the time, but every once and a while I've gotta give it a wiggle.

If you were in Canada I would've suggest you to stick them in earmuffs.

I was considering that anyway... Or some kind of headphones my mother would wear, seeing as her birthday is soon. Any ideas of what I may or may not be able to use to do such a thing?

Bump?

Sometimes you just have to do it yourself.

They are old and it seems that you have gotten your use out of them. I would buy a new set of portapros to compare the "titanium" drivers to the non-coated ones you have yourself there but in either case do what you think will be interesting and appreciated by whoever gets them next.

Meh... Not really interested in a new set. These were 3 years old, but I basically stopped using them about a year ago when I bought my 448's. I was just wondering if anyone had any extravagantly creative ideas for them, seeing as they still work, and they have no headband.

Do what I did, stick them into a motorcycle helmet! :)

Maybe if I had a motorcycle.... New DIY project, for my $39 drivers:

Buy $5000 motorcycle.

Buy Helmet.

Place drivers in helmet.

Ride motorcycle, and be cool like FallenAngel.

It's a very noble cause and I totally recommend you take it up!  I would be personally very proud! :)

Of course if you ski/snowboard/rollerblade/skate/bike, any of those helmets work as well

I bike, but not long enough to need the headphones. Maybe 20 mins a day. I really wish someone super creative could give me an awesome idea. The pillow is probably my #1 atm. I'd have to make it into a velcro pocket so I could still wash the case.

Being from Canada and all, I would not have expected you to recommend earmuffs.

Now a touke, that is another matter all together...

I'd whole-heartedly recommend adding them to a tuque. Though admittedly it wouldn't perform as a headphone as well...

Please forgive my misspelling. Consider me educated.

A headband has no personality, now a tuque on the other hand...

I like the pillow. I don't have much need for earmuffs. It would be fun for sleeping. :D

I'll do it. Pretty simple.

I'll wait a little though because I feel if this thread gets noticed a little bit, then maybe I'll hear some great idea. No rush.

I am not sure a pillow will work that well. The drivers will be too far away and/or not seal enough against your head to get adequate bass response.

Headphone drivers are pretty much optimized for being closely spaced to your head for optimum response.
