Help for a friend: iMod + Jensen 0.47uF Silver foil + LISA III, what IEM?

So this guy here has this rig, an iMod with a Jensen 0.47uF Silver foil cap dock, all into a LISA III amp.

He lost his Sennheiser IE 8 and wants some new IEMs. He listens primarily to, roughly translated, "pop and acoustic", and secondarily "classical and metal".

He wants to choose between the Triple.Fi-10, the ER-4 (I'd presume S version) and the Turbine Pro-Copper. Me, driving the Coppers out of the D-33, can't really help much, so I would like some advise from you guys here.

Oh, and he really doesn't want Customs. So there's also that.

Thank you very much.

These recommendations arent based on how many headphones Marcus thinks he can sell - if it were, he would have at least one pair of Senns - they are based on value for money. Given that you can almost certainly get them more cheaply in Quebec (not 100% sure based on some of the Canadian posts ..), the VFM equation should be even sweeter.

Personally, I am very tempted by the 'hard hitting bass response' description given for the Radius, as I know how hesitant Marcus usually is when trying to appease bassheads  :)

well for starters he needs to get some more capacitence in that dock if there is only 0.47uf per channel in there and no other larger cap to pick up the slack. 0.47uf into lisa III's 50k pot gives IMD up to 67.72551hz so I wouldnt be getting anything with really detailed and extended bass response

as for IEMs, without wanting customs, IMO hes really limiting his choices. I havent had the pleasure of listening yet, but the earsonics SM3 is getting good wraps

How much capacitance do you suggest? Up to 1uF? And what capacitor(s) would you suggest?

EDIT: Oh and apparently someone suggested somewhere between 10uF to 47uF for that 50k pot.

10uf is wayyy overkill, nowhere near that is needed and a 10uf film cap is rare, massive and expensive. anywhere from 2.2-2.7uf would be just fine and in parelel to the 0.47 if he has room for all 4 caps, he could use anything >1.7uf. for 2.2uf into a 50k pot, the corner (roll off) frequency is 1.446hz, but IMD distortion up to 14hz, which is below the frequency range of CD and most headphones. so if he can find a reasonable quality polypropylene film cap like auricap, Relcap or mundorf supreme the jensen silver will do most of the heavy lifting and detail, but the larger cap will give bass heft and fill out the lower frequncies. whoever recommended 10uf can either hear better than bats and has magical source files, or doesnt know the math
