Advice setting up home theater system

I'm planning on getting a blu ray player and need some advice on setting up my home theater system. The current player I'm looking at is http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-S570-Blu-ray-Disc-Player/dp/B0036WS4D4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291771512&sr=8-1

I already have a 5.1 passive speaker set up with the speaker wire connections and want the cheapest solution to integrate them into the set up. Nothing audiophile quality, just something that will get the job done.

I would definitely recommend the Denon AVR 591 (or its twin the 1611) if you want a solid, entry-level home theater receiver with modern features.  Both are available around $300-ish if you shop around.

If you don't need 3D support, you could save a bit more by buying a 1- or 2-year old model.   For example this is a great deal on refurb on a higher-end model from last year: http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=53705602&navid=155441519

Definitely spend enough to get a solid HDMI receiver so you can enjoy the best sound from that Blu-ray player.  $200-300 should get it done especially if you are willing to buy used / refurb.... look for recent model Denons, Onkyo, Yamaha, etc.
