the company is back in business and had a review few months ago in stereophile. Never heard their gear but in the 90's was highly regarded.

Those headphones are simply the best i own, they sound great. IMO they bring what hd 650 is missing. (no veil, bigger soundstage, nicer bass)

The music seems very fluid, nice.

The bass is good

 What is surprising is that they are closed but sound like opened cans 

Every registers are at their places and the slightly forward medium sounds magic

I know need some listening but  no doubt it is a good upgrade (hd 650, hd 595, ath a 900)

 

they are also very confortable

 

I am in love !!

I don t have this issue, the trebles are just fines with MF xcan v3 with good ecc88 gold pins

edit : ok that is right some times it s sharp

yeah, forget to mention before, I also think that W1000x is a close headphone that sound like open back.

 

Actually, upper mid - treble at W1000x is fine sounding of course, but when you compare to another high end ATH, then you'll realiza that W1kx isn't really amazing at that area.

Old thread but AT is offering me the w1000x new (albeit with only 90day warranty) for $450 as an accommodation upgrade from my broken CK10s.

They're also offering me a free "warranty swap" with an AD900. 

 

Ignoring the fact that I'm a noob to fullsize cans, would you take the w1000x deal or just take the AD900? OR just wait a whole month without earphones for the CK10s to arrive from Japan?

Tell me if I m wrong, but the deal is that they keep your earbuds and you add 450 to get w1000x?

 

The ad 900s are good but opened, they leak sound

So it depends on your utilisation
