Well, i have a list of high end headphones for this month...and yes T1's is a choice. (to buy)

I would strongly recommend a good quality tube amp with the 600 ohm T1s. Being high impedance cans, they really need a tube amp that can supply them large voltage swings (which tube amps can generally do better than SS amps). For every good SS amp pairing with the T1s that I've heard, I keep coming back to tubes.

Okay Hero, i will take this into consideration in case i go for the T1's...(unless i get a better deal :D )

Thanks man!

No problem. If you're stuck on a SS amp, the Meier Audio Concerto does work very well with the T1s/HD800s/LCD-2s/D7000s.

Good luck! Oh and you can call me Peter.

I think the "Burn in time" of the amp is an important factor, i had the chance to listen at my cousin house the HA-160 paired with the T1's, HD800's, and Hifiman HE5LE and i can say...this amp is full of energy.

Well...i think everybody have different tastes, and if you have the chance to try a new combination i say...Try it! and learn by yourself.

A good way to learn...by experiencing.

I know you guys impressions are very helpful...but anyways

Just my 2 cents on this...

I like how the DT990/600 Ohms sound with my Lehmann BCL so I wonder if the T1 would be a even better match.

Peter... I just noticed something last night. The T1 seems to blossom at around 10 - 10:30 on the volume dial @ High Gain on my Ultra Micro.

I am the one who usually listens at fairly low levels and from my past experience, a lot of good speakers sound full at moderate volumes.

I was enjoying the T1 immensely @ 10 - 10:30 (Note High Gain, not medium) and felt that the midrange was just right and I actually heard some of that famed front to back imaging.

But the moment I play it at a quieter level, the image becomes diffuse and the midrange becomes pale.

The bass control too improves with higher volume!

Well, I care for my hearing more than I care for the T1... am I playing it too loud?

But when I plugged in the T1s, I likely never would have bought them (and they're one of my very favourite headphones of all time).

I wanted to know about their new version, do you own it...the160D?

I want some advice with the T1's, cause im upgrading my gear soon.

I have the Burson 160D on the way and will try to post an update. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work well with the T1s on paper, so long as the 160D can swing the necessary voltage. My T1s sound different, but to my ears equally excellent, out of a Cary tube amp and a Luxman SS.

Does anybody have experience with Beyer's own A1 amp?

Do you have an SPL meter? I usually try to keep things under 79dB.
